  • The patient fasts for at least 8 hours before the procedure, in case of any necessary medication adjustments are discussed with the doctor.
  • We ensure an informed consent is obtained and patient anxiety allayed.
  • We administer sedative and  local anesthetic (throat spray) is given. The patient sleeps during the procedure and feels no pain at all
    • A thin, flexible tube (gastroscope) with a camera is inserted through the mouth.
    • Our experienced Gastroenterologist clearly examines the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum.
    • Biopsies or treatments e.g. stopping bleeding, removing small growths) may be performed.
      • The patient is monitored until sedation wears off.
      • Temporary throat discomfort or bloating may sometimes occur.
      • Immediate findings are discussed.

      • Biopsy (little body tissues removed for examination) results take 7-14 days and the Patient is reviewed with the results.

      • Most patients resume normal activities within 24 hours.

  • The procedure helps in detection of ulcers, gastritis, tumors, and infections.
  • It enables early treatment of precancerous conditions.
  • Minimally invasive with low risk.
